Banki.ru outtakes (censorship) #AlfaBankFraud

This is a follow-up to the series of my Facebook posts about the Alfa Bank fraud that was committed against me and the findings of my investigation into which persuaded me that it was organized by, or in close coordination and liaison with, crooks in the woodwork at Alfa Bank. It was originally published as “«Вырезанные кадры» на banki.ru” here.

In the first of my posts on the subject, I gave a detailed report on the confidence trick as such and on the same day started a thread about it on the banki.ru forum in order to discuss the matter with experts and ask them for advice on how to recover my money. The thread and the forum in general proved very useful for my money-recovery effort, and I am very grateful to all those who contributed to that discussion, including my critics, whose comments—scathing, insulting, dismissive or simply off-topic—also carried that thread forward and gave me new avenues to explore. In the final analysis, I am also grateful to the forum's moderators, who tolerated my anti-bank antics for nearly three months before realizing that my content was anathema to their business model, depending as it does on financing from banks, and banned me for life on their website. Before resorting to such a drastic measure, they for some time pursued the policy of curbing my aggressiveness by editing and deleting the most hurtful of my attacks against Alfa Bank. Very well, it is their right and privilege: When in Rome do as the Romans do. It is, however, clear that in so doing they create a niche for a competing website or forum that will focus on protecting the rights of bank customers rather than serving the interests of the banks themselves.

On a practical level, because I used in my content some comments from this thread on the forum that later turned out to have been edited or deleted, I decided to publish them here, which was made possible by automatic email notifications from the website of all such edits or deletions, with the original text included therein. I gathered them into a single file for convenience, which I published here, and in this post I include only the deleted comments that I find most important, and in my next post, I discuss the edits made by moderators. The original emails are published here and here respectively.

Every bank has a troll farm, whose output will steal the spotlight from your writings by virtue of search engine optimization

Now, that's an interesting point, Gudini. Will it? Won't it make more sense for the bank to refund me than to pay trolls for 20 years? Very well, I'll give away another of my secrets: I have 4 weblogs, 3 of which are in English (in which I am incidentally not just fluent but as proficient as a BBC journalist), and over 100k readers the world over. Let's see, as Khrushchev put it, "who [will bury] whom".

Six pages now and counting ...... about nothing.

I wonder, kamo, whether you would also describe your posts, which are about as numerous as mine in this thread, as being "about nothing". I wouldn't: I find them very useful for exploring this issue, and I included quite a few of them in my submissions to the Bank of Russia, RF President, MVD [Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA)] and the Prokuratura [Office of Public Prosecutor] of the RF, as well as quoting them in my publications elsewhere on the web.

Is it possible that nobody has noticed that all these personal attacks on me are water off a duck's back to me? I suggest limiting yourselves to criticisms AD REM rather than ad hominem/ad personam.

Here's a good proverb. The dog is barking, but the caravan is moving on.

Well, if we are down to trading proverbs as arguments, then I've got an irrefutable counterargument: "Diamond cut diamond". Yes, Alfa Bank is rolling on like an armoured train, paying heed to no one, but in this context I fancy myself as a tank: to be sure, if I just step on the rails to bar its way, then it will sweep me aside, but if I exercise caution, take position by the railway embankment slope behind some cover and lay down point fire, then the outcome of such a duel will not be a foregone conclusion.

you'll be sued for libel

And have you actually read my "libel", uGNot? I dare say not because you're the first to use this word in this thread. I assure you that all the accusations I bring against Alfa Bank are quite justified, and this has been recognized specifically by the prokuratura in their preliminary response to my report of this "libel", notifying me that they would look in depth into the FACTS reported by me.

Until then, your allegations are defamation.

"Defamation: knowingly false slanderous or libellous allegations or dissemination of knowingly false allegations detrimental to another's honour, dignity or reputation" (
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Клевета). This is what the bank will have to prove if it decides to sue me. If and until a court of law finds it such, none of my allegations is defamatory.
"Cases under part 1, article 128.1 of UK [Criminal/Penal Code] are prosecuted privately by the injured party that has filed a statement, not by Prokuratura. Accordingly, the burden of proving defamation is on the former."

serena2220 writes:
the police investigator said they suspect the banks themselves, or their staff; only they can't prove it.....

To be sure. When a spouse dies under suspicious circumstances, the police everywhere always suspect the other spouse first.
And this is no exception. A friend of my wife's told us the following story not long ago. Her elderly mother had taken no money out of her pension account with Sberbank for five years or thereabouts. But eventually they needed money, and the friend went to the bank with a power of attorney to withdraw some cash. Only to find that the account was as empty as an old tin can. The bank employees tried to persuade her that her mother most likely had emptied it at some point without telling her. Naturally enough, however, the friend wouldn’t buy it and promised to come the next day with her mother, and if the money wasn't there, they would go to the police. The next day the account balance was fully restored.
Do you think that was the handiwork of some hackers or fraudsters?
In my situation, too, I got wise to what was really going on two days after the con, realizing that it had been engineered by Alfa Bank itself, when I saw that it was doing nothing to recover the money, and even left my emails unanswered.
That, however, suited me just fine – I had no wish to have my money recredited right away because I wanted to enjoy my “lemonade”. ("If life hands you lemons, make lemonade".)
So I started making my lemonade. I created this thread under the guise of Dr Watson, who was writing this detective story while being in the dark, whereas the part I was actually playing was that of Sherlock Holmes, who was setting traps for the criminals known to him and collecting evidence.
And, lo and behold – surprise, surprise – Alfa Bank got caught in one of the traps set by me, and I managed to catch it in a lie to the Bank of Russia in official interbank correspondence.
I reported that DOCUMENTED lie to the Bank of Russia, the police and prokuratura, and published it, complete with all evidence, online.
This may prove to be the first piece of evidence that the police and prokuratura are looking for. And I am intrigued to see now how Alfa Bank will prove that this lie hides something totally innocent that has nothing at all to do with my case if it decides to sue me for “defamation”. Frankly speaking, the one thing I am now not the least bit afraid of is accusations of defamation

let's take the show to a whole new level

To be sure, let's have a party. I've always envied people with something personal to write about online rather than just commenting on the life of others and the social scene. And so I, too, have finally got a place in the sun, and can now have me a grand old time and give free rein to my creative imagination. As you can see, I write in Russian like a journalist. Please rest assured that I can do it even better in English because that's what I've been doing exclusively for the last twenty years. Let the show begin!
